What You'll Do10

  • 1Assist Program Director or Program Coordinator with developing youth program goals and activities
  • 2Create nurturing supportive environment for youth
  • 3Implement recreational educational social and team building activities
  • 4Provide classroom management and instruction
  • 5Act as liaison with parents
  • 6Attend regular staff meetings
  • 7Complete First Aid Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and Responding to Emergency training
  • 8Participate in ongoing staff training sessions
  • 9Conduct monthly supervision meetings with program coordinator or director
  • 10Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements9

  • 1High school diploma or equivalent credentials
  • 23 months to one year experience working with youth in recreational educational or social settings
  • 3Clearance through New York State Central Registry and New York State Office of Children and Family Services
  • 4Knowledge of best practices in youth development preferred
  • 5Familiarity with whole language philosophy preferred
  • 6Ability to establish rapport with young people
  • 7Engaging personality detailed oriented skills essential
  • 8Strong oral and written communication time management and organizational abilities required
  • 9Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology
