What You'll Do10
- 1Assist Program Director or Program Coordinator with developing youth program goals and activities
- 2Create nurturing supportive environment for youth
- 3Implement recreational educational social and team building activities
- 4Provide classroom management and instruction
- 5Act as liaison with parents
- 6Attend regular staff meetings
- 7Complete First Aid Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and Responding to Emergency training
- 8Participate in ongoing staff training sessions
- 9Conduct monthly supervision meetings with program coordinator or director
- 10Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent credentials
- 23 months to one year experience working with youth in recreational educational or social settings
- 3Clearance through New York State Central Registry and New York State Office of Children and Family Services
- 4Knowledge of best practices in youth development preferred
- 5Familiarity with whole language philosophy preferred
- 6Ability to establish rapport with young people
- 7Engaging personality detailed oriented skills essential
- 8Strong oral and written communication time management and organizational abilities required
- 9Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology
