Overview

The Youth Worker will direct and supervise teen center activities while providing tutoring and tracking academic performance. This role involves working Monday through Friday with occasional weekend shifts. The position ensures safety and program quality while representing the organization in the community.

  • 11Supervise participant behavior during programming
  • 12Act as role model and advisor for enrolled youth
  • 13Engage teens in community service projects
  • 14Organize youth activities including field trips and Field Day
  • 15Perform weekly school visits and necessary home visits
  • 16Participate in Youth Support Services meetings
  • 17Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • 18Attend meetings and trainings
  • 19Run focus groups
  • 20Plan and organize lessons and activities
  • 21Work with Teen Center volunteers
  • 22Maintain professional documentation standards
  • 23Attend regional and agency-wide trainings

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor’s degree with one year experience preferred
  • 2Ability to work with adolescents
  • 3Capacity to maintain accurate records
  • 4Valid driver’s license
  • 5Linguistic skills to serve identified populations
  • 6Commitment to youth development best practices
  • 7Experience with data collection and program evaluation
  • 8Understanding of trauma-informed care
  • 9Availability for occasional weekend shifts
