Overview
Autodesk seeks a Vice President to lead enterprise AI and data strategy, owning the AIDA domain and shaping intelligence architecture at scale. The leader will ensure Autodesk retains control over its AI systems, building open, portable, and governed solutions while driving AI portfolio excellence and fostering a high‑impact, expert team.
What You'll Do15
- 1Define and own enterprise intelligence architecture including data foundations agent infrastructure and governance layer
- 2Establish and drive enterprise data strategy covering governance quality classification access controls and retention across cloud application and security domains
- 3Lead transition from siloed data environments to unified foundation built on open standards ensuring data portability ownership and AI reasoning
- 4Collaborate with analytics leaders to create consistent data and AI practices scaling beyond individual teams
- 5Drive build versus buy versus partner decisions with discipline leveraging vendor AI where appropriate while protecting investment in autonomous intelligence
- 6Design repeatable engineering discipline for full agent lifecycle management making agentic AI safe scalable and continuously improvable
- 7Partner with Trust organization to apply enterprise AI governance frameworks addressing model risk bias privacy and ethics
- 8Ensure compliance with global regulations including EU AI Act GDPR CCPA and emerging obligations through coordinated legal collaboration
- 9Extend policies governing data interaction with AI systems building on Trust framework at architecture level
- 10Provide regular reporting to CIO and executives on portfolio health governance risk and business value
- 11Lead, develop and inspire globally distributed team of data engineers AI/ML practitioners product managers and program leaders shaping structure and operating model
- 12Assess and evolve team architecture building new capabilities while retaining top talent
- 13Recruit to close capability gaps in AI architecture ML engineering and AI governance while elevating existing contributors
- 14Serve as CIO's primary AI thought partner and trusted advisor on technology strategy AI investment and future of work
- 15Foster culture where engineering judgment thrives ambition is rewarded and teams are empowered to build meaningful solutions

- 15+ years building enterprise AI data platforms intelligent automation and AI governance not merely advisory
- 2Portfolio of AI programs shipped in production delivering measurable outcomes such as productivity gains cost reduction and improved decisions
- 3Deep fluency in modern data engineering open table formats Iceberg Delta Lake cloud native data infrastructure semantic ontology layers real time and batch processing extended into agentic AI systems LLM orchestration RAG LLMOps and multi agent design patterns
- 4Strategic transition experience leading or rebuilding organizations through transformation assessing teams and preserving top talent
- 5Proven track record leading data science and data engineering functions at scale accountable for team platform and outcomes
- 6Executive presence across altitudes setting technical architecture with senior engineers and briefing leadership with credibility in both technical and strategic contexts
- 7Demonstrated ability to lead globally distributed multidisciplinary teams across time zones with empathy and accountability
- 8Track record building cultures where judgment is trusted ambition is expected and delivery is celebrated
- 9Comfort with ambiguity creating clarity for others while maintaining rigorous execution
- 10Experience with regulated industries and familiarity with AI governance frameworks trust privacy and compliance
