Vehicle Interface Designer - General Motors
Overview
Design and ship intuitive in-vehicle digital experiences for GM's vehicle portfolio. Lead cross-functional design initiatives focusing on accessibility and visual appeal while collaborating with engineering and product teams. Operate autonomously to translate ambiguous problems into scalable UI solutions and drive design excellence.
What You'll Do7
- 1Collaborate with designers and cross functional partners to deliver premier user experience across GM products and platforms
- 2Balance user needs technical constraints and business objectives to solve complex design problems
- 3Develop production ready interaction designs aligned with established design systems and guidelines
- 4Create design deliverables including sketches wireframes mockups animations and prototypes
- 5Release production specifications and assets to software engineering teams
- 6Present design work to peers partners and leadership
- 7Participate in design critiques and contribute to informed design decisions
Requirements7
- 13+ years of experience designing digital interfaces for web mobile or in vehicle platforms
- 2Formal training or a degree in Interface Design Visual Design or a related discipline
- 3Strong portfolio with work samples demonstrating UX expertise interaction design creativity and depth of thought
- 4Proven experience bringing digital products to market
- 5Ability to exercise restraint and intentionality in design decisions
- 6Proficiency with industry standard design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- 7Excellent problem solving organization and written and verbal communication skills
