Staff Software Embedded Test Engineer - GM
Overview
Lead OS verification for next-generation In-Vehicle Infotainment platforms at GM. This hybrid role reports to Warren MI three times weekly. Shape quality of IVI systems through technical leadership in test planning automation and stakeholder collaboration.
What You'll Do11
- 1Define robust verification strategies and create automated test cases for complex software systems
- 2Drive end-to-end test execution plans and coordinate with developers and integration teams
- 3Analyze business and system requirements to derive accurate test estimates
- 4Execute manual and automated tests while troubleshooting environment issues
- 5Log defects and track resolution progress to ensure timely delivery
- 6Review and improve test processes through automation script development
- 7Collaborate with architects and system engineers to validate platform designs
- 8Maintain resource utilization across functional areas and identify constraints
- 9Provide feedback on test plans and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- 10Act as subject matter expert for component and system domains
- 11Model GM values and foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning
Requirements11
- 18+ years embedded software test experience in automotive or mobile environments
- 24+ years platform and embedded testing background
- 3Proficiency in Python or C++ programming languages
- 4Experience with test automation tools and scripting frameworks
- 5Strong understanding of software quality assurance methodologies
- 6Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- 7Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development processes
- 8Ability to deliver on time in fast-paced environment
- 9Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins GitHub and Artifactory
- 10Knowledge of vehicle communication networks CAN LIN SomeIP
- 11Self-motivated with quick learning capability
