Utility Worker I & II - Water Distribution in Phoenix
Overview
Own and maintain the water distribution system at a municipal level, ensuring safe and compliant operations in a full-time on-site role. You will work with GIS mapping for underground asset location, operate heavy equipment, and support overtime emergency calls. You will report to the Water Distribution Supervisor and collaborate with Team Gilbert to deliver reliable service.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and maintain water distribution assets using GIS maps to locate underground lines
- 2Operate heavy equipment including backhoe and vac truck to support maintenance projects
- 3Inspect and repair water distribution infrastructure to ensure code compliance and reliability
- 4Complete vehicle inspection forms and daily work logs to track operations
- 5Respond to emergency call-outs and work overtime including nights and weekends
Requirements5
- 1High School Diploma or GED
- 2Class A Commercial Driver`s License with Tanker Endorsement at hire or within 6 months
- 3ADEQ Grade I Water Distribution Certification within 1 year of hire
- 41 year of experience in public or private water distribution or related equipment maintenance for Worker II
- 5FLSA Non-Exempt role eligible for OT
