Overview
Own Unix/Linux security remediation under Project Aegis, hardening and patching Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris systems across a Boston enterprise. You will join an infrastructure team supporting application delivery, focusing on compliance-driven changes. What You'll Do7
- 1Remediate security vulnerabilities identified under Project Aegis, prioritizing critical and high-severity findings.
- 2Apply OS patches and upgrades to RHEL and Solaris servers, ensuring minimal service disruption.
- 3Harden Unix/Linux configurations against CIS benchmarks and internal security baselines.
- 4Resolve compliance findings related to cybersecurity controls, documenting root cause and remediation steps.
- 5Develop and maintain Bash and Perl scripts to automate patching, auditing, and reporting.
- 6Support application teams during remediation, testing, and production deployments, coordinating change windows.
- 7Participate in decommissioning of legacy servers, migrating workloads to supported platforms.
Requirements8
- 15+ years administering Unix/Linux systems in enterprise environments.
- 2Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris experience.
- 3Hands-on with security remediation, patching, and hardening (e.g., CIS benchmarks).
- 4Proficiency in Bash or Perl scripting for automation.
- 5Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys).
- 6Experience with change management and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
- 7Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS) and server hardware.
- 8Must be onsite in Quincy, MA 4 days per week.
