Linux Administrator, Enterprise Infrastructure
Overview
This role owns the health and stability of enterprise Linux environments across on-prem and cloud, supporting thousands of servers. You will manage daily operations, including patching, performance tuning, and incident response, with 10+ years of deep Linux administration. Work alongside a team of engineers and collaborate with DevOps to implement automation. The role stands out for its mix of hands-on troubleshooting and strategic infrastructure improvements.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build and maintain Red Hat and CentOS systems with Ansible and Puppet for configuration management.
- 2Diagnose and resolve system issues in production, ensuring uptime and performance for critical applications.
- 3Design and implement monitoring with Nagios and Prometheus, alerting on system health and capacity.
- 4Scale storage and filesystems using LVM and NFS, including backup and recovery procedures.
- 5Coordinate with security teams to apply CIS benchmarks and harden servers.
- 6Drive automation of routine tasks using Bash scripting and Python.
- 7Manage virtualized environments with VMware and KVM, including live migration and resource allocation.
Requirements7
- 110+ years hands-on Linux administration in enterprise environments.
- 2Expert proficiency with Red Hat and CentOS system administration.
- 3Strong Bash scripting skills and experience with Python automation.
- 4Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SSH.
- 5Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.
- 6Familiarity with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- 7Certifications such as RHCE or LPIC-3 are a plus.
