
Server Infrastructure Engineer, Enterprise Hardware & Automation
Overview
You own the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise server infrastructure across a global footprint. Deep expertise in server hardware, firmware lifecycle, and out-of-band management will be pivotal. You'll collaborate with global IT teams to automate operations and drive reliability. This role offers direct impact on infrastructure resilience and automation at scale.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and deploy server hardware solutions for global data centers, ensuring scalability and performance.
- 2Build automation scripts using Python and PowerShell to provision and configure servers.
- 3Manage firmware lifecycle across Dell, HP, and Cisco platforms, including updates and validation.
- 4Implement out-of-band management using iDRAC, iLO, and IPMI for remote troubleshooting.
- 5Lead L3 support for complex server issues, diagnosing hardware faults and coordinating with vendors.
- 6Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Ansible and Terraform for consistent deployment.
- 7Monitor server health and performance, implementing proactive maintenance and alerting with Nagios and Prometheus.
- 8Drive the adoption of bare-metal and virtualization technologies to optimize resource utilization.
Requirements8
- 15+ years in server infrastructure engineering, with focus on enterprise hardware.
- 2Expertise in Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, or Cisco UCS server platforms.
- 3Proficiency in Python or PowerShell for automation and scripting.
- 4Experience with Ansible or Terraform for configuration management.
- 5Hands-on knowledge of iDRAC, iLO, IPMI for remote management.
- 6Strong understanding of firmware lifecycle and update tools like Dell EMC OpenManage.
- 7Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Zabbix.
- 8Ability to travel up to 10% for on-site support.
