Patch Plan Program Manager, IT Security & Compliance
Overview
Own enterprise patch management for a utility client in Portland, Oregon. Coordinate patch cycles across Windows Server, Linux, and network devices to cut security exposure while keeping systems stable. Work with IT operations, security, and application teams to prioritize and execute patches. Report to IT leadership on compliance and risk. This contract role pays $64/hour and runs long-term with hybrid onsite work.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build a patch calendar for all systems, aligning with change windows and business cycles.
- 2Coordinate with IT operations and security to prioritize critical patches for CVE remediation.
- 3Drive patch execution across Windows Server, Linux, and network devices, tracking status to completion.
- 4Lead weekly patch status meetings with stakeholders to resolve blockers and adjust plans.
- 5Report on patch compliance metrics to IT leadership, highlighting risk and exceptions.
- 6Improve patch management processes to increase coverage and reduce downtime.
- 7Manage communication about patch windows to minimize business disruption.
Requirements7
- 15+ years in IT program or project management, focused on patch management.
- 2Hands-on experience with Microsoft SCCM or WSUS for Windows patching.
- 3Familiarity with Linux patch tools like YUM or APT.
- 4Knowledge of CVE and CVSS scoring to prioritize patches.
- 5Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools for change and incident management.
- 6PMP or ITIL certification preferred.
- 7Utility or energy industry experience is a plus.
