Travel RN - ICU Night Shift
Overview
As a Travel RN on the ICU night shift, you will deliver critical care to adult and geriatric patients in a 1:1 to 1:3 ratio setting, using Epic charting. You will work 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) for a 13-week assignment, with every other weekend and required holiday coverage. You will float within your skillset to PCU, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units as needed. This role offers first-time travelers the chance to gain experience in a connected ICU/PCU environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Own critical care for adult and geriatric ICU patients, managing ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and arterial lines.
- 2Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to changes in patient status.
- 3Provide central line and port care, including accessing and managing, and perform suctioning (ETT, NT).
- 4Document patient assessments and interventions in Epic charting system.
- 5Collaborate with the care team to maintain 1:1 to 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratios based on acuity.
- 6Float to PCU, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units, managing ratios of 1:4-6.
- 7Complete accurate handoff communication and shift reports.
- 8Adhere to all safety protocols and facility policies, including wearing navy blue scrubs.
- 9Participate in every other weekend rotation and cover 2 of 3 designated holidays.
Requirements10
- 1Active NJ or Compact RN license.
- 21+ years of ICU experience.
- 3Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- 4Epic charting experience.
- 5Proficient in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, and BiPAP/CPAP management.
- 6Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips.
- 7Skills in care of ventilated patients and suctioning (ETT, NT).
- 8Experience accessing and managing ports (preferred).
- 9Post cardiac surgery care experience (preferred).
- 10Two current professional references.
