Overview

Travel RN ICU Critical Care specialist leading care in a 30-bed ICU within a comprehensive stroke center. Manage complex cases involving CRRT CABG stroke and TNK. Requires expertise in high-acuity environments and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Build and maintain ventilator circuits using BiPAP/AVAPS and assist with intubation/extubation
  • 2Design and execute sedation protocols for patients on mechanical ventilation
  • 3Lead multidisciplinary rounds with neurology and cardiac teams
  • 4Interpret invasive hemodynamic data including CO CI SVV CVP SvO2
  • 5Coordinate care for septic shock and acute respiratory distress syndrome patients
  • 6Perform and manage central line placements and arterial line insertions
  • 7Implement prone positioning strategies with paralytic management
  • 8Assist with thoracentesis and tube thoracostomy procedures
  • 9Conduct daily assessments and adjust ventilator settings based on patient response
  • 10Maintain sterile technique during bedside procedures and medication administration
  • 11Document all interventions and ensure compliance with stroke center protocols

Requirements10

  • 15+ years ICU nursing experience with Spark and Airflow
  • 23-5 seasons managing ventilated patients
  • 3Active IL RN license required
  • 4Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • 5Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • 6NIHSS certification required
  • 7Workplace Violence Prevention training (DCI/BVP) completed via Relias, Healthcare Staffing Hire, CDC resource, or similar
  • 8Epic EMR experience
  • 9Preferred open heart surgery experience (CABG, valve surgeries, AAA)
  • 10Preferred comprehensive stroke experience (EVD, thrombectomy, TNK)
