Transportation Coordinator, Shipping & Logistics
Overview
You own dock operations and shipment scheduling in a high-volume manufacturing yard. You coordinate loading, scanning, and inventory control to keep outbound freight on time. You work with PIV forklifts, RF-Scanners, and Mi-Jack Cranes to move finished goods safely. This role demands precision under tight deadlines and a commitment to 5S standards. You will cross-train across shipping functions and step up during mandatory overtime and weekends.
What You'll Do10
- 1Load finished goods onto flatbed trucks using overhead cranes, hoists, and Mi-Jack Crane operations with ground support.
- 2Tarp, seal, and package finished goods to protect them during transit.
- 3Scan finished goods units with RF-Scanners into the tablet for inventory accuracy.
- 4Coordinate with team members to keep the shipping schedule on time and reduce truck detention.
- 5Operate a forklift to move materials and finished goods around the stock yard.
- 6Verify finished goods against pick lists and yard reports before shipping.
- 7Identify and implement improvements to increase shipping efficiency and safety.
- 8Maintain a clean workstation and uphold 5S requirements across shipping areas.
- 9Communicate effectively with management and other departments to resolve issues.
- 10Cross-train on multiple shipping functions and adapt to rotating tasks.
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED
- 26+ months of experience in manufacturing or shipping
- 3Current PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) certification or ability to obtain one
- 4Willingness to be trained or demonstrated experience operating overhead cranes, hoists, and Mi-Jack Cranes
- 5Availability to work mandatory overtime and weekends
- 6Ability to read procedural documents and safety materials
- 7Prior experience operating crane or hoist equipment (preferred)
- 8Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment (preferred)
- 9Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- 10Exceptional customer service and teamwork skills
