Material Handler, Forklift & Warehouse Operations
Overview
Own inbound and outbound freight handling across all Illinois locations, operating sit down forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks with precision and speed. You will join a 3-5 person cross dock team under the Cross Dock Supervisor, ensuring accurate staging, loading, and documentation. What You'll Do8
- 1Load and unload RJW trailers and outside carriers using sit down forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks, following safety protocols.
- 2Pick customer orders from warehouse operations sheets and load trailers, ensuring accuracy against paperwork.
- 3Operate RF Scanners to track inventory and verify shipment accuracy for inbound and outbound freight.
- 4Stage and label outbound cross-dock freight, building pallets and breaking down stock for orders.
- 5Conduct daily forklift maintenance inspections, reporting any issues to the Shift Supervisor.
- 6Maintain orderly stacking and housekeeping, keeping dock doors clear of debris and snow.
- 7Spot trailers to optimize yard flow and equipment movement.
- 8Complete daily paperwork and document any damages or incidents, alerting supervisors immediately.
Requirements8
- 13-6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using sit down forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks.
- 2High School Diploma or GED.
- 3General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
- 4Ability to lift and move stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift.
- 5Flexibility to work 10-12 hour shifts and supply coverage to other shifts as needed.
- 6Steady work under limited supervision with a sense of urgency and accountability.
- 7Attention to detail and quality, with clear communication and problem-solving skills.
- 8Forklift certification or warehousing certifications are a plus.
