Forklift Operator, Warehouse & Logistics
Overview
You own material movement for a high-volume Chicago warehouse, operating Sit-Down Forklifts to assemble, load, and unload shipments. You join a tight-knit team of 8 operators and report to the shift lead. This role offers stable hours, $21.00/hr day shift or $22.50/hr night shift, and immediate certification pathways. You gain Forklift Certification and Lockout/Tag Out training within 90 days.
What You'll Do8
- 1Operate Sit-Down Forklifts, Clamp trucks, and Scissor Lifts to move materials across the warehouse floor.
- 2Load full pallets and partial pallets onto trailers using RF Barcode Readers and VMU computer systems.
- 3Receive and execute material movement orders, confirming stock locations and quantities.
- 4Support Cycle Counting and Physical Inventory by scanning items and updating system counts.
- 5Repack, relabel, and stretch wrap products to meet shipping specifications.
- 6Perform Bin Maintenance, consolidate inventory, and post location changes in the WMS.
- 7Drive Dragline put-away and Replenishment tasks for Selective Rack storage.
- 8Handle LTL shipments, operating Push-Pull attachments when needed.
Requirements8
- 11+ year recent forklift experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- 2Forklift Certification preferred, or ability to complete in-house program within 90 days.
- 3Proficiency with RF Barcode Readers and vehicle-mounted VMU computers.
- 4Ability to work 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, either 6 AM to 2:30 PM or 6 PM to 2:30 AM.
- 5Basic math skills for inventory counts and load calculations.
- 6English proficiency for oral and written communication.
- 7Self-directed work style with minimal supervision.
- 8Successful completion of background check, drug test, and E-Verify.
