Overview
Operate forklifts to move stock, load and unload equipment, and store materials in a fast-paced Chicago warehouse. You own inventory accuracy and safe material handling for Pures Food Specialties. What You'll Do8
- 1Pick orders from inventory using a pick sheet and RF scanner, ensuring accuracy and rotation of oldest stock first.
- 2Load and unload trucks, verify shipments against bills of lading, and report quality variances immediately.
- 3Wrap pallets with shrink wrap and weigh loads, recording weights precisely for shipping documentation.
- 4Maintain a clean work area, inspecting racks and equipment daily, and flag any safety hazards to the shift lead.
- 5Comply with OSHA standards, completing certification updates as required and wearing proper uniform and PPE.
- 6Operate sit-down forklift and pallet jack to move materials, including hazardous items, following set routes.
- 7Coordinate with the manager and other departments on production schedules, prioritizing urgent deliveries.
- 8Perform daily equipment checks, cleaning, oiling, and recharging to keep machines in top shape.
Requirements8
- 11-3 years of certified forklift experience, with sit-down and pallet jack skills preferred.
- 2Hold a valid forklift certification and pass a background check for hazardous material handling.
- 3Use basic math to count, weigh, and document loads accurately.
- 4Read and interpret product labels and safety signage in English, communicating clearly with the team.
- 5Lift and carry 50+ pounds frequently throughout a 10-hour shift, standing and walking on concrete.
- 6Work 3rd shift from 7 PM to 5 AM, Monday through Saturday, with reliable attendance.
- 7Follow OSHA rules for warehouse safety, including proper stacking and load securement.
- 8Adapt to changing production schedules and prioritize tasks without direct supervision.
