Overview
Lead the operation of the transmission system ensuring safety and reliability. Manage daily switching activities and coordinate with ERCOT to maintain grid integrity. Drive improvements and handle emergencies to minimize outage times. Support team initiatives and comply with strict safety protocols.
What You'll Do11
- 1Coordinate operator activities while monitoring system limits
- 2Write and communicate switching orders following safety manuals
- 3Operate system in compliance with ERCOT and NERC standards
- 4Direct responses to black start and system outages
- 5Notify about equipment outages and potential risks
- 6Maintain daily reports and logs for system events
- 7Assist in training programs and system documentation
- 8Shed load during energy emergencies and force majeure events
- 9Restore load after outages and manage follow‑up actions
- 10Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff
- 11Perform transmission outage coordination during off‑hours
Requirements10
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2NERC System Operator certification
- 3Valid Texas Driver’s License
- 4High School Diploma or equivalent
- 57 years directly related experience
- 6Knowledge of SCADA and EMS systems
- 7Ability to prioritize tasks and manage changing demands
- 8Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 9Commitment to confidentiality and safety compliance
- 10Physical stamina to stand, lift 25 pounds, and travel
