Tractor Mechanic, Fleet Maintenance & Safety at KLLM Transport Services
Overview
Own ongoing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs for company trucks at our Dallas area facility with a focus on safety and reliability. You’ll work within a collaborative team to keep Freightliner, Peterbilt, Carrier, and Utility assets operating at peak performance. This role is onsite and requires hands-on workmanship, problem solving, and adherence to OSHA safety rules. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on company trucks to minimize downtime and extend vehicle life
- 2Diagnose issues using standard tools and basic diagnostics to return trucks to service quickly
- 3Document all service activities and complete required paperwork after each job
- 4Operate repair center equipment safely and maintain clean, organized work areas
- 5Collaborate with team members to coordinate repairs and share knowledge
- 6Inspect and service Freightliner, Peterbilt, Carrier or Utility assets as needed
- 7Adhere to safety rules and regulations and participate in safety programs
- 8Assist in troubleshooting and road-call support when needed
- 9Assist with tool inventory and ensure essential tools are available for the job
- 10Ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations during all tasks
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience preferred
- 3Experience with Freightliner, Peterbilt, Carrier or Utility assets preferred
- 4AC certification preferred
- 5Must have own tools essential to perform the job
- 6Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- 7Ability to work well with others and take direction
- 8Must comply with all OSHA safety rules and regulations
