What You'll Do7
- 1Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, electrical systems, and suspension on Freightliner Cascadia and Western Star tractors.
- 2Perform PM inspections and repairs on Utility and Wabash trailers, including Thermo King and Carrier reefer units.
- 3Use TMT and TMW systems to document work orders and track labor hours and parts.
- 4Troubleshoot EGR, emissions, air brake, and ABS systems to fix root causes, not just replace parts.
- 5Move equipment safely on and off the safety lane and around the yard.
- 6Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- 7Communicate clearly with drivers and coworkers to keep the shop running smoothly.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of diesel technician experience or heavy-duty military mechanic experience with tanks, LAVs, or 5-ton vehicles.
- 2Graduation from a trade or technical school, or equivalent experience.
- 3General knowledge of EGR/emissions controls, foundation, air, ABS brakes, and DC electrical systems.
- 4Experience with Freightliner or Detroit engines is a plus.
- 5Basic computer skills and ability to use TMT and TMW systems.
- 6Own roll-a-round storage and hand tools.
- 7High school diploma or GED, and be 18+ years old.
- 8Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.
