Diagnostic Diesel Technician Fleet Maintenance
Overview
Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. seeks a skilled Diagnostic Diesel Technician for its Fleet & Maintenance department. The role involves diagnosing and repairing diesel engines using OEM platforms such as Cummins Insite and Paccar DAVIE4. The ideal candidate will lead engine diagnostics, root cause analysis, and implement smart repair strategies while supporting operations at Long Beach or Santa Fe Springs locations.
What You'll Do9
- 1Diagnose and repair engine issues using OEM diagnostic platforms (Cummins Insite Paccar DAVIE4 etc.)
- 2Conduct electrical emission system and sensor diagnostics on heavy-duty diesel trucks
- 3Interpret fault codes and performance data update ECU software and calibrate sensors
- 4Perform advanced preventative maintenance and major component overhauls
- 5Troubleshoot aftertreatment systems DEF issues DPF regens and other emissions-related concerns
- 6Document all repair activities accurately in fleet maintenance software
- 7Assist in training junior mechanics on electronic diagnostics and standard repair techniques
- 8Provide input on fleet condition and recommend strategies to reduce downtime
- 9Maintain cleanliness organization and safety in workspaces per OSHA standards
Requirements9
- 1Minimum 3 years of diesel mechanic experience with advanced troubleshooting abilities
- 2Proven experience with Cummins and Paccar engine diagnostics software repairs
- 3High School Diploma or equivalent with technical certification in Diesel Technology preferred
- 4Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United States
- 5Strong proficiency in electronic diagnostic tools laptops and OEM software systems
- 6Ability to read wiring diagrams schematics and technical service bulletins
- 7Highly organized self-motivated individual capable of prioritizing tasks in fast-paced environment
- 8Physical ability to lift 50–75 pounds bend stand and work in demanding conditions
- 9Commitment to safe practices compliance with federal and state regulations
