What You'll Do7

  • 1Inspect all tractors and trailers for DOT and CSA violations during yard checks and lane monitoring.
  • 2Repair or flag safety issues before equipment departs, meeting federal and state standards.
  • 3Maintain fleet readiness by documenting repair needs and verifying fixes align with company standards.
  • 4Lead daily labor hour tracking and repair order completion to keep parts and labor charged accurately.
  • 5Coach shop and driving staff on compliance and safety practices to reduce repeat violations.
  • 6Keep the work area clean and organized, minimizing spills and debris, and return unused parts promptly.
  • 7Audit incoming and outgoing equipment against EPA and safety policies to ensure full compliance.

Requirements6

  • 12+ years hands-on mechanical inspection experience in trucking or fleet maintenance.
  • 2Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and CSA violation criteria.
  • 3Ability to pass the company pre-employment exam covering mechanical skills and safety protocols.
  • 4Fluent in English with basic computer skills for repair orders and yard check documentation.
  • 5Lift at least 50 pounds and stand for extended shifts in varied climates.
  • 6Flexible to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends.
