You own major and minor in-house repairs for the Reefer fleet at Marten Transport, ensuring quality and low cost to meet fleet cost per mile goals. You work in a team of technicians, maintaining proficiency in diagnosis, repair, and component rebuilding. What You'll Do8

  • 1Diagnose and repair Reefer equipment, ensuring high quality and low cost in a timely manner to meet fleet cost per mile goals.
  • 2Rebuild components on equipment to maintain proficiency and reduce downtime.
  • 3Perform preventative maintenance inspections effectively and efficiently, identifying and repairing issues promptly.
  • 4Complete repair orders in a timely manner, charging all labor and parts to the appropriate unit.
  • 5Return unused parts to the parts room and keep the work area clean.
  • 6Attend all company training classes and demonstrate the instructed skills.
  • 7Comply with all company, EPA, and safety policies to meet standards.
  • 8Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.

Requirements6

  • 12+ years experience in tractor maintenance or 1 year post high school training preferred.
  • 2High School education or equivalent.
  • 3Must possess mechanical skills and aptitude for the position.
  • 4Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for long hours.
  • 5Ability to work various shifts and days, including weekends and holidays.
  • 6Ability to work in all types of climates, including extreme hot and cold.
