Mobile Diesel Mechanic II, Fleet Maintenance & DOT Inspections
Overview
You'll perform DOT inspections, PM services, and advanced diagnostics on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks across a mobile fleet. You'll operate from a company-issued service truck, manage your own schedule, and work with TRAIT software on an iOS device. You'll join a nationwide team with 50+ service centers, backed by a 24/7 call center. This role stands out with weekly pay, take-home truck, and a clear path to promotion.
What You'll Do9
- 1Perform DOT and PM inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in the field.
- 2Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and diesel systems using handheld computers.
- 3Road test vehicles to verify repairs and identify additional issues.
- 4Manage parts inventory on the service truck and reconcile with company records.
- 5Operate and maintain the company-issued service truck, including pre- and post-trip inspections.
- 6Document all work using TRAIT on a company iOS device, uploading photos and notes.
- 7Communicate with clients and support team to obtain approvals and part numbers.
- 8Prioritize tasks and manage daily schedule independently to meet performance metrics.
- 9Follow OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety regulations at all times.
Requirements8
- 13+ years experience in a related field, or 5+ years with a degree or certification.
- 2Possess a full set of hand tools.
- 3Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
- 4Pass DOT background screening and physical exam.
- 5Hold a valid DOT medical card or complete a DOT physical.
- 6Be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
- 7Maintain Driver Qualification File per company policy.
- 8Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods and perform heavy labor.
