You will own daily classroom operations for Two's at Kenyatta's Day Care & Learning Center, a Chicago institution serving the South Shore community for 48+ years. You will design and deliver age-appropriate activities that foster cognitive, social, and emotional growth in children aged 0-3. What You'll Do8
- 1Design and deliver daily classroom activities that meet developmental milestones for 0-3 year olds.
- 2Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, conducting regular safety checks and supervision.
- 3Communicate daily with parents and staff about student progress and classroom happenings.
- 4Implement creative teaching strategies to encourage self-expression and exploration.
- 5Adapt activities to individual learning styles and needs of each child.
- 6Model positive behavior and social interactions for students.
- 7Attend evening staff meetings to coordinate curriculum and center initiatives.
- 8Ensure basic needs of children are met, including feeding, diapering, and rest periods.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2A CDA credential or 30 college credit hours with 6 in early childhood development.
- 31+ year experience working with children 0-3 years old.
- 4Clear criminal record background check.
- 5Prior experience in a similar childcare setting.
- 6Basic first aid training advantageous.
- 7Physically fit, able to lift 30 pounds.
- 8Warm, approachable demeanor.
- 9Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
