Test Technician, Lab Calibration & Hardware Testing
Overview
Test Technician will own calibration, testing, and preparation of scientific instruments for shipment at scale, providing first line troubleshooting for equipment issues. You will work hands-on with various test instruments and lab hardware while contributing to daily operations and ongoing process improvements. You will join a collaborative team focused on precision, quality, and safety in a controlled lab environment. This role offers hands-on exposure to advanced laboratory equipment and opportunities to develop practical calibration and test skills.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build calibration procedures for a range of instruments and verify performance against specifications
- 2Test instruments using tester hardware to confirm functionality before shipping
- 3Prepare instruments for shipment including final checks documentation and packaging
- 4Provide first line troubleshooting to diagnose instrument problems
- 5Identify root causes of equipment issues and collaborate with teammates to implement fixes
- 6Participate in group problem solving to resolve technical challenges and improve workflows
- 7Contribute to process improvements to increase efficiency accuracy and reliability in calibration and testing
- 8Work safely and consistently within established engineering and laboratory practices handling centrifuges plate readers and related hardware
- 9Communicate clearly with colleagues regarding equipment status test results and issues identified during calibration or troubleshooting
Requirements10
- 1Hands on experience with instrument calibration in a technical or laboratory setting
- 2Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and test equipment issues
- 3Experience working with engineering test equipment and hardware testing processes
- 4Practical experience with centrifuges and plate readers
- 5Familiarity with chemistry concepts relevant to liquid handling and laboratory instrumentation
- 6Experience with liquid handling equipment such as Beckman Agilent and Hamilton systems
- 7Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate documentation
- 8Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in calibration and testing tasks
- 9Prior work experience with calibration automation centrifuges and plate readers
- 10Experience working with laboratory automation systems and liquid handling platforms
