Test Engineer, PCBA Manufacturing & Test Automation
Overview
Own automated test hardware and program development for PCBA manufacturing at Jabil's Richardson, TX site. You will drive yield improvements and cost reductions across high-volume production lines, collaborating with design engineers to ensure testability from prototype to ramp. What You'll Do7
- 1Develop automated test hardware and programs for PCBA and system-level assemblies, targeting yield and throughput gains in the first 90 days.
- 2Collaborate with design engineers on new product introductions to embed testability requirements in demand flow manufacturing environments.
- 3Optimize test methods for In-Circuit Testing (ICT) and functional testing, balancing coverage with cycle time.
- 4Evaluate and justify capital equipment purchases for test systems, aligning with cost reduction roadmaps.
- 5Implement continuous improvement initiatives for test yields, using data from AOI, AXI, and ICT to close defect loops.
- 6Perform root-cause analysis on test failures and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
- 7Document test procedures and support technician training to ensure consistent execution across shifts.
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
- 22+ years in a manufacturing test environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3Hands-on experience with PCBA manufacturing and testing processes, including AOI and/or AXI.
- 4Strong knowledge of In-Circuit Testing (ICT) or functional test methodologies.
- 5Ability to communicate complex technical issues to managers, clients, and internal teams.
- 6Familiarity with test automation tools and programming languages (e.g., LabVIEW, Python) is a plus.
- 7Willingness to work onsite in Richardson, TX on 1st shift.
