Test Engineer, Mechatronics & Data Acquisition
Overview
Own hands-on component and system level reliability testing at scale, partnering with reliability and design engineers on Design Validation Plans and test planning. Lead fixture development and data acquisition efforts across multiple test labs to uncover root causes. Collaborate with CAE, test technicians, and design teams to deliver clear, actionable test reports and robust fixtures. Bring curiosity and hands-on problem solving to a dynamic, onsite environment.
What You'll Do6
- 1Build test plans and fixtures for component and system level testing and drive 90 day outcomes in reliability trials
- 2Design and execute data acquisition strategies using sensors and instrumentation to capture precise measurements
- 3Lead test scheduling, prioritization, and specifications to ensure on time validation milestones
- 4Develop CAD fixtures, work with labs for fabrication, and evaluate fixture performance in tests
- 5Inspect components for torque, cracks, CAN signals and other failure indicators to identify root causes
- 6Write scripts to automate testing workflows and analyze test data to produce concise reports
Requirements8
- 1Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 2Hands-on experience with sensors (load cells, strain gages, LVDT) and data acquisition systems (National Instruments, Dewesoft)
- 3Experience with CAD and fixture design (CATIA a plus)
- 4Programming experience in Python and familiarity with CAN communication for test automation
- 5Strong engineering fundamentals and demonstrated debugging and troubleshooting skills
- 6Ability to work onsite in Fremont, CA in a fast-paced environment
- 7Experience with laboratories, fixture fabrication, and test instrumentation
- 8Hands-on testing experience from school projects, internships, or relevant roles
