Teacher, Champions Before & After School Program
Overview
At Reach Charter Academy in Detroit, MI, you will lead a classroom of elementary-aged students in the Champions before and after school program. You will implement KinderCare's research-backed curriculum, coach a team of less experienced teachers, and build strong partnerships with parents and school administrators. What You'll Do8
- 1Lead and coach less experienced teachers in your classroom, modeling best practices and providing regular feedback to elevate teaching quality.
- 2Implement KinderCare's curriculum in a way that meets the unique developmental needs of each child, fostering social, emotional, and academic growth.
- 3Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children play, learn, and build confidence during out-of-school hours.
- 4Partner with parents to share progress and provide resources, ensuring a collaborative approach to each child's care and education.
- 5Support center success by collaborating with staff and leadership to achieve enrollment, accreditation, and engagement goals.
- 6Cultivate positive relationships with families, school administrators, state licensing authorities, and community contacts to strengthen the program.
- 7Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, safety standards, and CPR and First Aid protocols, maintaining a secure environment for all children.
- 8Champion the Champions mission by actively promoting the program to families and the community, driving enrollment and retention.
Requirements8
- 1Hold an active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or meet NAEYC candidacy requirements.
- 22-3 years of Early Childhood Education experience, ideally in a school-age setting.
- 3Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
- 4Approved state trainer certification (preferred).
- 5Meet state-specific qualifications for the role and obtain CPR and First Aid certification within the first 90 days.
- 6Physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and work indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- 7Able to sit, kneel, and move at child height to engage directly with children, with clear vision and hearing to ensure safety.
- 8Read, write, and speak English fluently to communicate with children and parents.
