Systems Test Engineer Hardware, CATIA V5 & CAD Modeling
Overview
You will own 3D CAD model generation for ground support equipment and cable routing, building assemblies and releasing drawings through Teamcenter PLM. Collaborating with design and test teams in San Diego, you'll drive hardware development and integration for Triton labs. This role puts you at the center of engineering documentation, change requests, and customer audits, with a focus on CATIA V5 mastery. You'll work on revolutionary systems at Northrop Grumman, from stealth bombers to lunar landers, in a flexible 9/80 schedule.
What You'll Do9
- 1Generate 3D CAD models of ground equipment and cable routing using vendor and custom data, ensuring accuracy for CATIA V5 assemblies.
- 2Build COTS WRA assemblies, cable drawings, and rack assemblies, releasing them through Teamcenter PLM for production.
- 3Create and release Hardware and Interconnect drawing packages, managing version control and documentation.
- 4Provide technical support for Change Requests through program review boards, ensuring approvals and traceability.
- 5Audit engineering documentation and system configurations, verifying compliance with customer requirements.
- 6Support hardware and software integration in Triton labs, debugging issues and refining designs.
- 7Develop new hardware design recommendations for IFC4 builds, iterating on prototypes and test results.
- 8Investigate integration findings, performing failure analysis and hardware replacements to maintain system integrity.
- 9Serve as a liaison between maintenance, design engineering, and test site teams, communicating technical status clearly.
Requirements8
- 12+ years (Level 2) or 5+ years (Level 3) in systems test engineering, with a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- 2Hands-on CATIA V5 experience for 3D modeling and drafting, including COTS WRA assemblies and cable drawings.
- 3Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- 4Experience generating 3D models for ground support equipment, cable routing, and rack assemblies.
- 5Proficiency with Teamcenter PLM or similar product lifecycle management tools.
- 6Ability to work occasional night and weekend shifts as required by project milestones.
- 7U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
- 8Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to work independently and in teams.
