Overview
Own system safety for complex launch vehicle and ground support equipment at scale Chandler, AZ on site. Lead a small team of safety engineers to define, implement, and verify safety requirements across launch, build, and test activities. What You'll Do10
- 1Lead a small team of System Safety engineers to define, implement, and verify System Safety requirements
- 2Apply systems engineering processes to define and verify launch vehicle and ground support equipment requirements
- 3Interface with customers and internal stakeholders to communicate safety topics and requirements
- 4Support launch vehicle design and development to meet safety, mission, and performance goals
- 5Evaluate interrelationship of system safety requirements with design in various launch sites and facilities
- 6Develop safety documents to support customer and test/operational range requirements
- 7Perform audits of operational areas and assess effectiveness of the system safety program
- 8Participate in accident investigations and identify corrective actions
- 9Analyze integration and test processes to demonstrate safety and mission success
- 10Ensure compliance with RCC-319, RCC-324, SSCMAN 91-710, MIL-STD-882 through MBSE tooling
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years of related engineering experience or Master’s with 3 years or PhD with 1 year for Level 3
- 2Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8 years of related engineering experience or Master’s with 6 years or PhD with 1 year for Level 4
- 3U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- 4Experience with launch vehicle or similar system design, testing, or mission operations
- 5Knowledge of the systems engineering discipline and its application to system safety
- 6Knowledge of RCC-319, RCC-324, SSCMAN 91-710, and MIL-STD-882
- 7Active U.S. Government Secret clearance preferred
- 82+ years leading small teams and managing schedules and budgets
- 9Strong communication skills for complex technical concepts
- 10Model Based Systems Engineering MBSE experience preferred
