Systems Engineer - Essential Systems Inc
Overview
We seek an experienced systems engineer to lead design integration and development of Access Control Intrusion Detection and Video Surveillance Systems within industrial nuclear power plant settings. This engineering role demands technical leadership across architecture integration and development oversight alongside physical protection systems. Not a cybersecurity position though familiarity with intrusion detection systems access control and video surveillance is beneficial. High reliability and long-term operability standards apply.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead system architecture and detailed design of nuclear physical protection and security systems complying with 10 CFR 73
- 2Design redundant network configurations for servers workstations and field equipment without internet wireless or cloud components
- 3Integrate hardware software communications sensors actuators and HMIs into cohesive solutions
- 4Provide technical direction to vendors integrators and internal development teams
- 5Author maintain and control comprehensive system documentation
- 6Support development implementation through configuration definition design reviews and technical baseline control
- 7Participate in FAT SAT installation oversight and commissioning processes
- 8Resolve technical issues arising during integration testing or operations
- 9Manage system upgrades modifications and obsolescence throughout the product lifecycle
- 10Travel occasionally out of state for site walkdowns meetings and brief installation oversight
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Systems Electrical Software or related field
- 210+ years of experience designing and integrating complex systems
- 3Direct experience with 10 CFR 73 regulations
- 4Familiarity with NEI security guidance and NRC inspection procedures IP 71130 series
- 5Prior work with nuclear utilities EPC firms or nuclear security integrators
- 6Experience authoring SRS/HRS SDD HDD and ICD documents
- 7Strong systems thinking with practical engineering judgment
- 8Ability to make and defend design decisions
- 9Methodical disciplined and detail oriented approach
- 10Professional demeanor suitable for sensitive environments
- 11Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
