Security System Design Engineer - BEI Construction
Overview
Design and lead security system engineering for BEI Construction's low voltage division. This fully remote role reports to the General Manager. You will own technical design programming testing and commissioning of division projects. Stand out by delivering scalable security solutions that exceed client expectations.
What You'll Do15
- 1Create and deliver engineering physical layout system security designs markups and programming commissioning close out documentation
- 2Follow complex instructions and diagrams to produce or modify drawings using company design standards
- 3Review system designs before installation identifying technical functional and compatibility issues
- 4Build a complete bill of materials for the Project Management team
- 5Act as technical point of contact for union and non-union employees within the division
- 6Conduct in-depth testing and troubleshooting of access control and IP network video systems
- 7Populate programming sheets and manage system programming
- 8Complete assigned projects through final adjustments test troubleshoot and rectify during commissioning and signoff
- 9Train on-site clients on system usage
- 10Provide regular status reports to the Project Manager for efficient resource planning
- 11Attend site meetings represent the company professionally explain drawings to construction teams and engineers
- 12Review construction drawings and cost estimates for accuracy and regulatory compliance
- 13Travel for site walkthroughs bids and installation oversight
- 14Perform technology research and obtain relevant manufacturer certifications
- 15Prepare quotations and participate in competitive bidding processes
Requirements6
- 15+ years industry experience working with security installations servicing or design
- 2Relevant systems experience such as Lenel Genetec S2 OpenPath or other SaaS platforms
- 3Experience carrying out bids completing BOMs and producing quotations
- 4Competency to conduct technology research and achieve manufacturer certifications
- 5Ability to multitask collaborate with Project and CAD teams and work independently
- 6Effective communication skills with local service providers clients and internal teams
