Overview
You will own the daily operations of a Windows Server environment for a 12+ month contract in Downtown Houston. You will manage Active Directory, VMware, and Exchange across a fleet of 500+ users. You will collaborate with network and security teams to ensure uptime and patch compliance. This role demands independent prioritization and direct stakeholder communication.
What You'll Do8
- 1Deploy and maintain Windows Server patches across 200+ servers using WSUS and SCCM.
- 2Troubleshoot Active Directory authentication and group policy issues affecting user access.
- 3Manage VMware clusters to ensure 99.9% uptime for production workloads.
- 4Configure and monitor Exchange mailboxes and Office 365 hybrid mail flow.
- 5Automate routine tasks by writing PowerShell scripts to reduce manual effort.
- 6Document system architecture and change procedures for compliance audits.
- 7Coordinate with vendors to resolve hardware and SAN storage failures.
- 8Respond to critical incidents within 30 minutes, restoring service and reporting root cause.
Requirements9
- 13+ years as a System Administrator managing Windows Server environments.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 3Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- 4Experience with VMware vSphere administration and virtual machine provisioning.
- 5Working knowledge of Exchange or Office 365 email systems.
- 6Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for task automation.
- 7Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve integration issues.
- 8Ability to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
- 9Self-managed workload with consistent delivery under tight deadlines.
