Swim Instructor, Water Safety & Swim Lessons
Overview
You will instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum, teaching up to 8 students per 30-minute lesson in a chlorinated pool environment. You will work with a team of Golden Teachers and Deck Supervisors to deliver consistent, safe, and engaging lessons that build confidence and skill. After each lesson, you will communicate progress with parents and celebrate achievements. This role offers paid training, including in-house lifeguard certification, and growth into leadership positions within 3-6 months. You will join a culture-driven company committed to drowning prevention and community impact.
What You'll Do8
- 1Teach swim lessons based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum, focusing on water safety and technique.
- 2Evaluate student progress and complete required paperwork after each lesson.
- 3Interact with parents to discuss student development and celebrate milestones.
- 4Apply problem-solving and creative thinking to address student challenges in the pool.
- 5Set up and maintain pool equipment, including lane lines and class materials before and after lessons.
- 6Perform lifeguard duties and light cleaning as needed during shifts.
- 7Attend mandatory workshops and in-service training outside regular hours.
- 8Complete other duties as assigned by the employer.
Requirements6
- 1Ability to swim and pass a basic swim test of 50 yards.
- 2Complete in-house lifeguard certification as part of training.
- 3Comfortable working in a warm, humid, and chlorinated pool environment.
- 4Able to stand and demonstrate skills for extended periods, including in-water rescues.
- 5Available for shifts between 9:00-1:00 and 4:00-8:00 weekdays, and 9:00-4:00 weekends.
- 6Aged 16+ with reliable availability for consistent weekly scheduling.
