Survey Party Chief, Field Surveying & DOT Projects
Overview
Own on site survey leadership across DOT, commercial, federal, and industrial projects with a focus on accuracy and field data integrity. You will supervise survey crews, coordinate with engineers and clients, and establish survey control methods at scale. Work with a cross functional team in Orlando and Charleston to deliver precise land measurements and staking outcomes. This role emphasizes field leadership, data collection discipline, and safety in diverse environments.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead the survey crew, set priorities, and organize work to meet project timelines
- 2Derive field calculations from completed work and ensure regulatory quality and accuracy
- 3Maintain survey instruments and equipment to guarantee precise angles, distances, and data
- 4Coordinate findings with engineering personnel, clients, and project stakeholders
- 5Research prior survey evidence and records to obtain data for surveys
- 6Determine methods for establishing or reestablishing survey control
- 7Maintain accurate notes, records, and sketches describing work performed
- 8Complete daily logs, expense reports, and safety forms upholding safety procedures
- 9Consult with computer operators and review final production of survey work
- 10Travel as required to support projects and coordinate with teams on site
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED required
- 23-5 years of experience as a party crew chief preferred
- 3Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- 4Able to travel extensively and work outdoors in varied weather
- 5Strong technical skills and problem solving, detail oriented and methodical
- 6Proficiency with Total Station/Data Collector, Level, and GPS methods
- 7Experience in surveying construction staking, boundary, and ALTA surveys
- 8Ability to lead a team of surveyors and survey independently
- 9Background check and drug screening clearance
- 10Willingness to work on a contract to hire basis in Orlando, FL
