Overview
Own carrier supply economics for Amazon 1P and 3P transportation networks at scale, driving cost reductions while preserving speed and reliability. Lead cross functional initiatives with teams including Amazon Freight, Procurement, Finance, and Transportation Technology. Build analytical frameworks, quantify cost impacts, and influence partner actions to reduce total cost of ownership. This role blends large data analysis with business decisioning and collaboration across multiple operating groups.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build cost models and defect reporting for Amazon Freight 1P truckload operations and benchmark performance against market indices to inform carrier selection
- 2Quantify financial impacts of network changes and recommend routing or procurement adjustments to reduce cost and improve service
- 3Analyze lane level 1P vs 3P economics to inform carrier selection logic and identify cheaper or faster options
- 4Develop and maintain carrier performance frameworks covering acceptance rates, on time pickup, cost prediction errors, and first pass yield
- 5Partner with Procurement to improve bid strategy including target rate development and volume commitment structures
- 6Investigate capacity events and mode shifts to prevent cost leakage and implement recovery mechanisms
- 7Audit carrier lists and routing overrides to quantify cost of suboptimal carrier selection
- 8Support quarterly and annual planning with cost entitlement sizing and initiative tracking
Requirements7
- 13+ years of program or project management experience
- 23+ years of cross functional experience with tech and non-tech teams
- 33+ years of data driven process improvement experience
- 42+ years of supply chain experience
- 5Bachelor's degree and advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLookups
- 6SQL experience
- 7Knowledge of defining program requirements and using data to drive improvements
