Supplier Quality Engineer, Aerospace & Defense QA & AS9100 Compliance
Overview
Own supplier quality for aerospace components at scale within a contract setting. Lead supplier audits, PPAP, and CAPA processes to ensure adherence to AS9100 and NADCAP requirements. Collaborate with suppliers to drive quality performance, delivery, and technical compliance. This role blends quality engineering with supplier development in a shop and office environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and supplier quality requirements to ensure compliant supply base
- 2Design and implement supplier quality processes in accordance with AS9100 standards and NADCAP where applicable
- 3Verify purchased materials and components through source inspections and product verification activities
- 4Audit suppliers, assess performance, and drive corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives
- 5Oversee nonconformance, CAPA, RCCA, 5Y, and 8D methodologies to mitigate quality risks
- 6Support supplier development efforts and collaborate to improve supplier capability and performance
- 7Develop, implement, and monitor supplier performance metrics and KPIs with regular reporting
- 8Partner with suppliers to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and technical requirements
- 9Perform process surveillance at supplier facilities and internal locations to verify compliance
- 10Prepare and maintain procedures and work instructions related to supplier quality management
Requirements10
- 110+ years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer in Aerospace and Defense
- 2Deep knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, RCCA, 5Y, and 8D methodologies
- 3Proficiency in PPAP, root cause analysis, and CAPA
- 4Experience with NADCAP and supplier audits and assessments
- 5Ability to plan, analyze, report results, and mitigate quality risks for products and services
- 6Experience with verification of purchased products and auditing
- 7Experience developing procedures and work instructions
- 8Experience with Cost Point (ERP System)
- 9Strong quality control, inspection, and validation skills
- 10Onsite contract role based in Webster, TX with 6-month initial term
