Student Services Specialist, Early Outreach & College Pathways
Overview
Owns direct student service delivery for the Early College Program at GCC serving high school students earning college credits. Works with internal teams and external partners to promote enrollment and retention across campus and community. Contributes to program evaluation, event design, and outreach initiatives that support student development. This role stands out through close collaboration with schools, agencies, and organizers to remove barriers to college access.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and deliver monthly in person workshops and events that drive early college enrollment and student success using tools like Canvas and FAFSA resources
- 2Design and implement outreach activities at high schools and community partners to promote enrollment and retention in Early College opportunities
- 3Lead campus outreach and retention events, maintain records, and respond to prospective student inquiries while ensuring compliance with policies
- 4Coordinate website updates, database management, and reporting to track progress and program impact
- 5Assist with special projects and events such as Welcome Back and Senior Recognition while supporting budget and procurement processes
Requirements5
- 1Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and one year of related experience or an equivalent combination
- 2Ability to travel to local high schools and community partners
- 3Valid Arizona Class D driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
- 4Experience providing student services, advisement, or outreach in an educational setting is preferred
- 5Bachelor’s Degree and experience with group presentations or MCCCD outreach activities are desired
