Structures Technician, Aircraft & Sheet Metal - Phoenix MRO
Overview
The Structures Technician owns inspection, repair, fabrication, and installation of aircraft structural components in an MRO setting. You will work on commercial aircraft and support modification programs with FAA-aligned procedures. You will read blueprints and engineering data, fabricate parts from metals and composites, and document maintenance activities. This role emphasizes hands-on sheet metal craft, safety compliance, and teamwork in a hangar environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and repair aircraft sheet metal structures including skins and floor beams
- 2Drill, rivet, fabricate, assemble, and install structural components to spec
- 3Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- 4Fabricate and repair sheet metal parts from aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and composites
- 5Complete maintenance documentation, logs, and training records
- 6Operate sheet metal equipment, rivet guns, drills, and forming machinery safely
- 7Follow FAA regulations and company procedures
- 8Maintain a clean, organized work area and support other maintenance tasks
- 9Assist with modifications and installation in line with program needs
- 10Collaborate with team to ensure on-time completion of MRO tasks
Requirements7
- 13+ years of aircraft structures, airframe, or sheet metal experience preferably on commercial aircraft
- 2Hands-on drilling, riveting, structural repairs, and modifications in an MRO environment
- 3Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical data
- 4Experience fabricating and installing aircraft structural components
- 5Boeing and Airbus experience preferred
- 6Proficient with common aircraft sheet metal tools and equipment
- 7Valid driver's license
