Structural Mechanic 2 Gulfstream Aerospace
Overview
Lead structural assembly operations in a production department following established operating procedures. Own detailed part assembly and fit while ensuring quality standards. Must display ability to remove fasteners without damaging structure. Complete all logs and records. Align and assemble parts using proper tooling and maintain a neat work area.
What You'll Do11
- 1Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures safely
- 2Execute sheetmetal layout fabrication and installation of aircraft components
- 3Rivet structural assemblies using portable guns and pneumatic tools
- 4Remove fasteners without damaging structure
- 5Read work orders blueprints and operation sheets to determine operations
- 6Check all work for defects before final inspection
- 7Maintain and use all required logs and records
- 8Align and assemble parts using jigs and holding fixtures
- 9Utilize proper tooling to shape complex angles and configurations
- 10Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags and Material Review Requests
- 11Perform rework to ensure installations meet conformity standards
Requirements11
- 12 years related structural assembly experience
- 2Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred
- 3High School Diploma or GED required
- 4Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- 5Basic computer skills and shop math proficiency
- 6Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- 7Work any shift and climb ladders or stairs
- 8Lift 50 lbs and possess hands-on craftwork aptitude
- 9Demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices
- 10Experience with composite resins and materials
- 11Aptitude for continuous improvement activities
