Structural Steel Estimator, Business Development in Phoenix
Overview
Own the estimating and client development function for a growing structural and miscellaneous steel firm in Phoenix. You will work directly with the Chief Estimator to build a robust project pipeline, develop long-term client relationships, and gain leadership exposure as the estimating team scales. This is not cold-calling; success comes from credibility, responsiveness, and follow-through within a collaborative, local team.
What You'll Do5
- 1Estimate structural and miscellaneous steel scopes and prepare bid proposals
- 2Follow up on bids, negotiate scope and pricing to close work
- 3Build and maintain contractor and client relationships through meetings and site visits
- 4Develop and manage a long-term pipeline of project opportunities
- 5Balance field presence with office execution to maintain pipeline visibility and accuracy
Requirements5
- 15+ years estimating structural and or miscellaneous steel for commercial or industrial projects
- 2Comfort managing several active estimates against tight deadlines
- 3Strong communication and interpersonal skills representing the company to clients
- 4Proven ability to write clear, compelling proposals
- 5Willing to split time between office and field work in the Phoenix area
