Structural Engineer, Industrial & Equipment Support Structures
Overview
Structural Engineer leads reviews of designs for industrial equipment projects in a contract Columbus role. Owns structural analysis, coordinate engineering activities, and manage subcontractors to ensure quality and schedule. Works across steel design, foundations, and equipment support structures within EPC style environments. This role offers exposure to complex projects and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and validate structural designs, calculations, and construction documents to meet project requirements.
- 2Coordinate engineering activities and manage subcontractors and vendors to align with schedule.
- 3Support equipment support structures, steel design, and foundation interfaces across projects.
- 4Ensure project quality, schedule, and technical requirements are met through rigorous review.
- 5Coordinate multiple stakeholders including engineering consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors to drive progress.
- 6Manage project priorities while maintaining quality and on time delivery.
- 7Lead design reviews and issue resolutions with cross functional teams on industrial equipment.
- 8Drive risk mitigation and change control for structural scope during execution.
- 9Ship finished structural deliverables from design through fabrication and installation.
- 10Maintain clear communication and documentation to support field coordination and turnover to customers.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- 28+ years of structural engineering experience in industrial environments
- 3Proficiency with STAAD.Pro or equivalent structural analysis software
- 4Experience designing or reviewing industrial equipment support structures and structural steel systems
- 5Strong understanding of structural steel design, load path analysis, and applicable building codes
- 6Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar drafting software
- 7Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 8Experience supporting foundation design and foundation interfaces for industrial installations
- 9Experience managing direct reports or leading engineering/design teams
- 10Knowledge of procurement processes, bid package development, and subcontract administration
