Overview
We seek a skilled Stroke and Headache Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to lead our neurology and cerebrovascular care team. The role involves delivering comprehensive neurological evaluations and managing acute and chronic cerebrovascular conditions and headache disorders while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
What You'll Do12
- 1Perform comprehensive neurological assessments including detailed patient history and neurological examinations in the outpatient setting
- 2Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as neuroimaging and laboratory studies
- 3Develop differential diagnoses and implement patient-centered care plans
- 4Manage follow up for patients with ischemic stroke hemorrhagic stroke TIA and headache disorders using evidence based protocols
- 5Prescribe medications and treatments according to Massachusetts state regulations
- 6Conduct outpatient stroke management for patients post stroke TIA and headache
- 7Evaluate and manage primary and secondary headache disorders including migraine tension type cluster headache and medication overuse headache
- 8Provide patient education on headache triggers prevention strategies and long term management
- 9Coordinate care after hospital admission of stroke patients
- 10Collaborate with rehabilitation services nursing case management and social work in outpatient settings
- 11Program and improve stroke program initiatives and compliance with national stroke certification standards
- 12Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to stroke and neurological care outcomes
Requirements6
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- 3National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- 4Current Massachusetts NP or PA license
- 5Eligibility for prescriptive authority schedules II–VI
- 6Preferred Clinical experience in neurology stroke care or headache medicine
