You will own stroke patient management in a full-service regional medical center, handling acute and chronic cerebrovascular cases from evaluation through discharge. What You'll Do8
- 1Evaluate and manage patients with acute ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, and TIA from arrival through recovery
- 2Participate in stroke alerts and rapid response assessments, making time-critical decisions
- 3Order and interpret diagnostic tests including CT and MRI imaging and laboratory studies
- 4Collaborate with neurology, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, and rehabilitation teams on integrated care
- 5Develop post-stroke care plans and secondary prevention strategies to reduce recurrence risk
- 6Provide patient and family education on stroke risk factors and recovery plans to improve adherence
- 7Document clinical encounters accurately and timely within the EMR to support continuity
- 8Drive quality initiatives aligned with stroke certification standards to improve outcomes
Requirements7
- 1Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- 2Active Washington State APRN license or eligibility
- 3Board Certified as FNP, Adult/Gerontology NP, or Acute Care NP
- 4Prior stroke, neurology, ICU, or hospital-based experience preferred
- 5Strong clinical decision-making skills in acute care environments
- 6Ability to respond rapidly in stroke alert scenarios
- 7Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a hospital setting
