Street Supervisor - Town of Chestertown
Overview
The Town of Chestertown seeks a motivated Street Supervisor to lead daily operations of the Street Department. This role involves planning directing and supervising maintenance and repair of streets sidewalks right-of-way parks and public infrastructure. What You'll Do10
- 1Supervise street maintenance repair and construction activities to ensure work is completed safely efficiently and according to quality standards
- 2Conduct field inspections of projects to monitor progress identify issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations and Town policies
- 3Plan and oversee snow removal operations for Town streets parks and public walkways
- 4Supervise yard waste and bulk trash collection services
- 5Coordinate staffing and logistics for Town events including stage setup barricades and road closures
- 6Assist with preparation administration and monitoring of the departmental budget
- 7Determine staffing requirements and coordinate procurement and maintenance of equipment materials and supplies
- 8Train supervise and evaluate and mentor employees to promote a safe productive and collaborative work environment
- 9Respond to inquiries and concerns from residents contractors and other departments investigating complaints and implementing corrective actions
- 10Ensure compliance with all applicable federal state and local safety regulations and Town policies
Requirements7
- 15+ years of progressive experience in public works street maintenance construction or related fields including supervisory roles
- 2Commercial Driver`s License (CDL) preferred
- 3High school diploma or equivalent required
- 4Minimum of five (5) years of experience
- 5Knowledge of street maintenance construction practices traffic control procedures and workplace safety standards
- 6Ability to interpret and apply applicable laws regulations policies and procedures
- 7Proficiency with modern office equipment and standard computer software
Salary Insight
$70 - $85k per year
