What You'll Do8

  • 1Plan and schedule daily production activities for assigned maintenance contracts, ensuring crews hit budgeted labor hours for each job.
  • 2Supervise crew performance on-site, inspecting completed work each day to catch quality issues and address customer concerns proactively before they escalate.
  • 3Train and mentor crew members through structured certification sessions, teaching techniques for plant care, equipment use, and safety.
  • 4Track job costs and labor hours using company reports, comparing actuals against budgets and adjusting crew assignments in real time.
  • 5Communicate daily budget targets to crew leaders, giving them clear direction on productivity expectations for each task.
  • 6Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment assigned to your team, scheduling repairs and preventive maintenance to avoid downtime.
  • 7Coordinate with other field managers across branches to share resources and ensure contract completion during peak seasons.
  • 8Build strong relationships with property managers and clients, serving as the main point of contact on your contracts.

Requirements8

  • 11+ year of commercial landscape maintenance experience, including plant identification and care.
  • 22-4 year horticulture degree plus 2+ years industry experience, or equivalent combination of experience and certifications.
  • 3Demonstrated ability to lead crews of 3-10 people and delegate tasks effectively.
  • 4Working knowledge of mowers, trimmers, blowers, and snow removal equipment.
  • 5Valid driver's license with a clean record for the past 3 years.
  • 6Skills in diagnosing insect and disease issues and scheduling treatment with IPM practices.
  • 7Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • 8Proficiency with tablet-based reporting tools and GPS tracking for job hours.
