Overview
You will own all store operations for a Ross Stores location in Pittsburgh, PA, managing 5+ years of retail leadership to hit sales and profit targets. You will lead a leadership team of Assistant Managers and Area Supervisors, ensuring merchandise flows to the floor quickly and expenses stay within budget. This role demands hands-on management of payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention, with direct accountability for store performance. What You'll Do10
- 1Lead daily store operations, including sales floor, stockroom, and front end, to achieve company standards and maximize productivity.
- 2Analyze store reports to control expenses and adjust payroll hours to plan, partnering with the District Manager on action plans.
- 3Recruit, hire, and train Assistant Managers, Area Supervisors, and Associates, using retention tools to reduce turnover.
- 4Coach and develop your team through performance reviews, progressive discipline, and individual development plans.
- 5Manage payroll administration, including punch edits, scheduling compliance, and Sunday transmission, within Microsoft Excel.
- 6Ensure merchandise processing, recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet company guidelines and hit the sales floor on time.
- 7Model professional appearance and uphold the company dress code to reinforce the Ross Stores brand.
- 8Lead loss prevention efforts, including training on shortage goals, maintaining customer presence, and executing annual inventory.
- 9Handle associate relations issues, consulting with the District Manager, and ensure compliance with all regulations.
- 10Drive customer service excellence by training associates on registers, fitting rooms, and the service desk.
Requirements9
- 15+ years of store management experience in a retail environment.
- 2Proven ability to lead, motivate, and communicate with associates at all levels.
- 3Experience training, coaching, and developing retail teams to achieve goals.
- 4Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and execute action plans.
- 5Fluency in English for clear communication with staff and customers.
- 6Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by store operations.
- 7Capability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in decision-making.
- 8Physical ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time, lift up to 25 lbs, and use store equipment.
- 9Basic math skills for retail calculations and familiarity with PDT devices, registers, and PC systems.
