Store Manager, Off-Price Retail & Operations
Overview
You will own the full store operation at a Ross Dress for Less location, driving sales, controlling expenses, and leading a team of Retail Associates to deliver a consistent treasure hunt experience. You will report directly to the Store Manager and collaborate with District Managers to align on business objectives. This role stands out because you will manage payroll administration, loss prevention, and merchandise presentation across a high-volume retail environment. What You'll Do9
- 1Drive store sales and customer satisfaction by coaching Retail Associates on register, fitting room, and sales floor excellence within the first 90 days.
- 2Control payroll hours to plan and adjust to business trends, directly impacting store profitability.
- 3Lead the execution of merchandise processing, including recovery, sizing, and markdowns, to meet company standards within expected timeframes.
- 4Supervise and train associates on loss prevention awareness and shortage goals, ensuring a strong customer presence on the sales floor.
- 5Manage the annual inventory process, including preparation and execution of inventory guidelines.
- 6Foster an inclusive and respectful environment, leveraging Ross recognition programs to motivate the team.
- 7Conduct monthly safety meetings and ensure emergency procedures are understood and practiced by all associates.
- 8Analyze store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and communicate variances to the Store Manager.
- 9Maintain high housekeeping standards by scheduling and completing cleaning tasks, including restrooms and use of PDTs and registers.
Requirements9
- 12+ years of store or assistant store manager experience in a retail environment.
- 2Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and communicate positively to associates at all levels.
- 3Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and exercise independent judgment.
- 4Maintain high quality customer service standards.
- 5Fluency in English.
- 6Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- 7Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail.
- 8Ability to use store equipment including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- 9Physical ability to stand, walk, and move for up to 100% of shift, and lift more than 25 lbs occasionally.
