Overview

The Staffing Coordinator will provide support to Nursing Supervisors Managers and Directors to ensure adequate nursing staff for each shift. This role involves collecting documentation managing compliance and optimizing unit capacity through collaboration with Clinical Administrative Supervisors. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and will manage Kronos schedules and maintain accurate staffing records.

What You'll Do14

  • 1Ensure records are up to date and maintained according to regulatory guidelines
  • 2Maintain workspace in a neat organized manner
  • 3Electronic record storage will be the preferred storage method whenever possible
  • 4Scan records and store per department guidelines
  • 5Utilize timekeeping scheduling and acuity software to assign staff to correct units
  • 6Assist with scheduling as requested and forecast staffing based on operational guidelines
  • 7Complete CAS/Staffer reports including sick call logs
  • 8Review and respond to all written and verbal communication within shift hours
  • 9Facilitate staffing huddles and prepare information for meetings
  • 10Maintain Kronos by assigning staff to units worked and updating sick calls as needed
  • 11Distribute post assignments for nurse leads and revise staffing needs for upcoming shifts
  • 12Collaborate with CAS and staffers to ensure consistency with California staffing standards
  • 13Adhere to KNOWN standards and display professional phone etiquette
  • 14Escalate concerns to Manager or CAS as needed

Requirements11

  • 1High school or equivalent
  • 2Pref Associate's degree
  • 3Degree in a related field
  • 4Pref 1 year Experience as a staffing specialist/clerk in an acute hospital setting
  • 5Pref 2 years Experience in related field
  • 6Requirement for proficiency with computerized scheduling and general office procedures
  • 7Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • 8Ability to solve problems and work independently
  • 9Highly organized and detail oriented
  • 10Must have ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • 11Pref Experience utilizing Kronos for payroll
