What You'll Do9

  • 1Build weekly schedules for nursing staff based on patient acuity and workload, adjusting for census changes.
  • 2Coordinate with Nurse Management to assess staffing needs and pre-schedule part-time and per diem staff.
  • 3Use registry staff only after exhausting all internal nursing resources, ensuring current CPR and licenses.
  • 4Audit and calculate employee timecards, maintain attendance logs, and submit accurate monthly nursing hours and variance reports.
  • 5Resolve staff scheduling conflicts and inquiries independently, escalating only when necessary.
  • 6Monitor position control and flexible staffing budgets to maintain cost-effective coverage.
  • 7Assist with new hire Nursing Department orientation as needed.
  • 8Maintain records of staffing variances per unit using Labor Reports.
  • 9Pre-schedule overtime for eligible staff after part-time and per diem options are filled.

Requirements7

  • 11+ years staffing experience required, 1-3 years preferred.
  • 2Prior clerical, administrative support, or human resources experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • 3Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • 4Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • 5Proficiency with scheduling software, MS Office Suite, and timekeeping systems.
  • 6Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • 7Knowledge of state and federal healthcare staffing regulations preferred.
